Unfortunately, I think it happens in most of the countries, if not all of them. Money means power, especially in the capitalist society. So, the more money you have the more powerful you are. The more powerful you are, the more people feel the need and will to respect you, because they are afraid of you or ‘just in case they need you someday’…if you have money, ‘you can do and have everything’: buy people, go to nice restaurants, etc.

Many people prefer not to flush, especially when it is a public toilet, to avoid be contaminated by germs and bacteria when they touch the bottom, door, or anything from the toilet.

My Brazilian and other foreign male friends ask me why Brazilian, French, American, etc., women smell down there. Also, when I am with some female friends – no matter their ethnicity – I can smell it, too, just by talking to them. So, I guess it is just a hygiene and health matter, more than race.

In Brazil, in general, the blondes are seing as sexy, but dumb. Once, I read in an article that people are used to thinking that blondes are sexy because of Marlyn Monroe – blond woman that turned to a sexy woman icon. Also, I’ve read that the natural blond has the hair more soft and thin, which conotates more delicated and feminine woman. Why they are stereotyped as dumb, I don’t know…

In Brazil, it is very rude when people ask you ‘how are you?’, you answer ‘more or less’ or ‘not fine’ and they don’t say anything. Or you ask it back, and the person don’t answer. Also, it is rude when you are talking and people don’t pay much attention to what you say, don’t look to you in your eyes. The ‘okay’ gesture of Americans means ‘F. you’ in Brazil.
