No, no african-american deserves reparations. This is for one simple reason: it’s illegal. While I’m aware that we gave reparations to the japanese americans after world war 2 when we imprisoned them. However, that was illegal to begin with. Reparations for slavery would be an ex post facto punishment. A punishment now for crimes comitted when they weren’t crimes. Besides, what about the people (like my family) who never held slaves, should we have to pay too?
