Jessica28951ParticipantI agree with the others, your comment is very rude and arrogant. ‘Our country’ is ‘our’ because it is built on so many different cultures and people. I don’t believe it is rude AT ALL to speak your own language. If this is a country where everyone is defined as EQUAL and having the same human rights and freedoms as you, how is it rude to use that? Yes, they may not know the English language, so that is why they are more comfortable to speak their own language. What if you were traveling and went to a place where English wasn’t the language, would it be rude for them to say to you, ‘learn our language.’ Now, I will say that sometimes I feel odd when they are constantly speaking and I don’t know what they are saying. Yet, as a society, we are EXTREMELY self-conscious and thinks everything is about us. America is home to these valuable freedom, and let them use it like you use it.
