My question to you is, why must your elementary school students know you are gay? This is part of the problem I believe alot of heterosexuals have with homosexuals. There are laws about sexual harrasment, hostile work environment, etc. to regulate the behavior of people with regards to sexual content in the workplace. I don’t make my sexual preferences known to my coworkers because it really has no bearing on my professional relationships. I would suggest to you that you not make your sexual lifestyle evident in an elementary school.
