It seems to me that this question and answer is quite an old one. Could part of the answer be so simple as: whites expect or want us to keep up the neighborhood just like they did, so therefore, SCREW THEM, we will do it the way WE want to. Which would be the opposite of the way it had been done, which would be trashing or not caring for the asthetics of the area they live in? I realize that there is so much more to it than that, but could this be a rebellious part of their minds surfacing? It seems to me that most people of any culture would want nice, clean, safe neighborhoods to live in.
