All of the previous postings have at least made one important point: The jury is still out on what the Bible actually says about homosexuality. The five main passages most Christians cite are hotly debated by Biblical scholars and theologians to this day, with no consensus in sight. How can you expect us to accept your version, if so many other Christians disagree with you, and vice versa?

I’m not very learned in ancient texts, so I have to listen to everybody and then make my mind up for myself. And I have. I have staked my entire salvation on the belief that your assessment of what the Bible says about homosexuality is wrong. Now, I could ask you if you would be willing to make that same kind of bet that you’re right, but since these supposed abominations don’t affect you, you don’t have to do that. A very convenient place for you to judge, don’t you think?
