I am half Filipino and half Chinese, and I consider myself to be fully Asian. There is no such thing as one big 'Asian Culture', as different Asian groups have different customs, beliefs, etc. So when you ask if someone identifies with 'Asian Culture', please keep in mind that there is no single 'Asian Culture'. For example, Enlish, French and Italian people (from those respective countries) are all European, but they have very different cultures.

My guess about Asian women's vaginas being smaller is that many Asian women are usually physically smaller than their white/black/Latina counterparts. We are generally shorter, weigh less and are smaller-boned than other women. A woman's vagina will usually be proportionate to her overall size. It's hard to picture a small woman of any race with a large, loose vagina (unless she just gave birth).

Of course, there are exceptions to every rule. I don't doubt there are some Asian women who have large vaginas, and non-Asian women who have small, tight ones. Also, 'tight' to some men may be considered 'loose' to another, if you know what I mean.

FYI: Asian women have also been exoticized and objectified in American history and the media. We are always referred to as 'exotic' and 'mysterious.' Maybe the stereotype of being exotic and from some faraway land conjures up images of Asian women being sensual and sexually adept, which may very well lead to the whole 'tight vagina' thing.

I'm not Japanese but am Asian American. I do believe most Japanese folks I know - especially ones who were born in the United States and understand the history that the Japanese have had with the United States - would be pretty offended if a non-Asian approached them by calling them a 'Jap.' Maybe things are different in Indiana, but here in the Bay Area/San Francisco, we Asian folks don't go around calling each other 'Jap,' 'Chink', or 'Gook' -- I personally go by 'Karen.' If another Asian person did call me something derogatory, I would seriously wonder why they would want to call someone of the same race a name like that and thus perpetuate a stereotype.

From what I understand, the shoes-over-the-wires is a ghetto thing. In the Bay Area, you only see the shoes-over-the-wire in bad (or kind of scuzzy) neighborhoods and projects. It usually indicates that a drug dealer lives or hangs out near the shoes-on-the-wire. My boyfriend happened to live next door to this guy who was always sitting on his front steps, and there were always these homeless or at least sketchy-looking people approaching that guy. They were probably his 'clients,' and he was probably a dealer. Lo and behold, there was a dirty old pair of sneakers hanging on the telephone wire in front of the guy's house. For the record, I do observe the neighborhoods I go to in San Francisco and the Bay Area (you should always be aware of your surroundings, even if they are nice ones), and the pleasant neighborhoods do not have shoes on wires.

Hmmm, here in the United States, at least in California, it is the law to put your young children in car seats. A child must be in a Child Saftey Seat if either 1) the child is 4 years old or younger, or 2) the child weighs less that 40 pounds (I'm not sure how many kilograms that is). I am Asian American, and all the little ones in my family are always strapped up in their car seats when their parents take them for a drive. I agree that not putting your kid in a car seat can be dangerous. Maybe the child car seat manufacturers in the UK do not cater their advertisments to the Asian community there. Or, maybe Asians in the UK don't see the need for an extra baby/car accessory. I highly doubt they would ever want to purposely risk their children's life.

Hi, I am an Asian American female, and I agree that the lack of body hair is just a genetic thing for us. I think that not having a lot of body hair is wonderfull! My Caucasian, Hispanic, and Black friends are constantly waxing, plucking, or shaving something, and I'm releived that I don't have to deal with that nearly as much as they do.

Hi, I am young, in college, and my credit probably stinks. I am over $25,000.00 in debt. But I am not completely ignorant as far as my finances go, either. I have taken both finance and accounting classes, and understand how APRs, compounded interest, amortization, stocks, etc. works, I even use my financial calculator to figure out how much I need to pay per month to have all my bills paid off in 'N' number of years. I think that most of us young people think that all of our debt will somehow go away and solve itself, like it's not real or something, and that they'll deal with it later. Perhaps the reason people in the say, 18-24 age range are in such a jam is because a lot of us have parents who are educated, make a lot of money, and give us everything we've ever wanted, even without us having to ask for it. Most of us were little kids in the decadent '80s, and teenagers in the high-tech, nasdaq-inflating '90s. We didn't have to experience a major Depression like our grandparents did, or money-depleting wars like our parents did, so we were not raised with that penny-pinching mentality-or much spendinging willpower, for that matter. Also, look at media like MTV, where all those flashy videos just glorify spending.

Hi, I am half-Filipino, half-Chinese, and no, we Filipino chicks don't make a habit to pierce our private parts. Mine aren't peirced, and from what I understand, no women on my mom's side-the Filipino side-of the family has them peirced either. I do have my ears pierced in rather...unconventional ways, and my grandma's just fine with it.
