ToniaMemberBlack parents teach their children the same things that white parents teach there children. Why do some people think that because we are not white that we do not hold the same values? When we are at home, we do the same things you do. We may do it a little differently, but we do it none the less. As far as the student telling another student to sit their ‘white ass’ down, so what. You should be more upset at the ass part, than the white part. Was the child white or a black child who was ‘acting white’, whatever that means. If they were acting, then they were being called a name. If the child was in fact white then were is the name calling? The child was simply stating the obvious. It simply did not appeal to your personal taste. All things, black and white, should not be internalized. But to Valerie, your comment was very ignorant and of a clearly superlative nature. The 90% you saw and are refering to were clearing responding to your air of superiority. If you are so put off by what you saw, what are you going to do personally to improve the cirumstances of their situation. How do you know they can’t read? I am and of the black community and have been my whole life adn have yet to meet an illiterate black. I am not implying that there are no issues of illeteracy in yours or my community, but it’s not the rule. Your attitude implies that you have not real knowledge of blacks other that what you see on TV or happen to catch a glimpse of as you scurry past the po’, uneducated negroes. And your basic behaviors comment along with the lack of role models was arrogant. Just because your white, doesn’t make you right. I can definately say that you are alot of things, but right does not come to mind.

ToniaMemberDo you really think that God is pleased the way we not only celebrate the birth of His son, but the way we live our lives from day to day? Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday, it’s a cultural holiday that was created to make individuals more concious and responsible to themselves and their community. If you have a problem with that maybe your the problem. God is probably more offended by you and your narrow-minded ‘whiteness’ trip.
