No one I know feels they are above the rules and laws that govern everyone else. In fact, sometimes we are made examples of because we are white and courts, police, businesses, etc. want to make sure it is known that they don’t discriminate. I know a couple of friends who have been better qualified for a promotion but were passed over because a woman or someone from another race applied for the job and the company promoted them instead.
