Each person tends to find certain physical characteristics more attractive than others, whether it’s skin, hair, eye color or body shape.

Your quote: “The reasons black men go there, according to black women, are numerous, complicated and usually demeaning to white women: they take s*** from black men, they’re pushovers, they’re easy, just to list a few.’

Those reasons are B.S., in my opinion. The real reasons are more complicated. First, there’s personal preference. However, one’s preference is often affected by cultural standards of beauty. And in American/European society, the white, blonde and skinny standard of beauty, especially female beauty, is idealized. Hence the reason many black women straighten their hair to make it look more ‘white,’ and why Micheal Jackson had plastic surgery to make him look ‘white.’ I think black people look beautiful just the way God made them, and they shouldn’t have to change the way they look.

Everyone is culturally conditioned to believe white skin is the most beautiful. Many people mostly break out of this mentality, but deep down it’s often still there. I think this affects how black men view white women. On the other hand, some of them just prefer those of another race, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

I’m bisexual and in the process of coming out, and I’m sure that sometime someone will say ‘Wow, I thought bisexuals were freaks before I met you, but now I know better!’ That wouldn’t offend me. I’d take a remark like that any day over outright rejection. It’s also kind of uplifting to hear things like that because it shows that people can overcome prejudice.

Probably because it sounds ‘Southern.’ Some people think that if you use Southern or black-sounding words, you’re being racist. If one was intentionally making fun of African-American speech, that would be racist. But it sounds like another case of knee-jerk politically correct hypersensitivity.

I was born & raised in the U.S., & find myself increasingly disgusted with American culture. I think the U.S. could learn a lot from Canada & European countries- they have more concern for the environment, socialized medicine, respect for women, better gay rights, better public transportation. There is less drug abuse & lower crime, & you don’t have the death penalty. I would be willing to pay higher taxes to get some of those kinds of benefits. (I do consider myself patriotic though! I just don’t think patriotism requires agreeing w/ the stupid president.

I took a Intro to Islam course which covered this topic. A Muslim man may marry a Jew or Christian woman but he must let her practice her religion if she chooses. They also must decide which religion to raise their children in. However, a Muslim woman may not marry a non-Muslim. I don’t really understand why that is- could anyone could explain? This is the orthodox, traditional Islam- a Muslim feminist would still probably marry a non-Muslim if she wanted to.

If you are a Jehovah’s Witness, why not ask another Jehovah’s Witness? Is there a leader at your church/worship place?

To answer your question, I suggest you read the page of the this website- http://www.straightpridewear/aboutus.com Are these people (the straight pride company) homophobic, are they against gay rights? Decide for yourself.
