Stacey C.ParticipantI was glad to read your post. I,too, am offended when people casually throw around slurs without thinking about how badly they sound. To hear a word like that used, especially incorrectly, is showing more than an ignorant nature. There will never be any kind of unity if people stop responding negatively to those who speak and think so callously.User Detail :

Stacey C.ParticipantOne of the best things about wrestling is that no one gets hurt (it's all fake) except in an accident (there was nothing fake about Owen Hart's death). I have raised two boys, and I, their dad and they have always enjoyed the intrigue of relationships between the stars, all the 'apparent' violence (and yet week after week the same guys come back) and the excitement of the audience. I have never allowed my kids to roughhouse, and they burn off a lot of energy rooting for Hulk Hogan or The Iron Shiek. They also learned that it is only entertainment, like a well-constructed play, and that that type of behavior for any other reason is unacceptable. If you don't enjoy wrestling, that's fine, but it is a great family way to kill a Saturday night if you watch it in the spirit in which it was intended. Have fun!User Detail :

Stacey C.ParticipantDear Emily,I can tell you why I was so affected by the Littleton shootings. I am a mother of two teenaged sons. Both of my boys are good kids. The idea that they can't go to school without having to be afraid of getting shot is repulsive. My oldest son graduated last year (the year of the shootings) and I removed my youngest son from public school before the end of last year. If you don't have school aged kids (and I'm guessing that you don't) you cannot even imagine what it is like to send them away from the house every day and being left to wonder if they will get off the bus in the afternoon or if today is the day you get 'that' call from the school. I hope by the time you have school aged children that this is just a dreadful memory in our history.User Detail :
