Most extremist groups, Neo-Nazis, wealthy White business owners, and married people with families vote Republican. Past Republican presidents such as Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Ford were viewed as unsympathetic toward the needs of people of color. The demographics are wildly different with Black families as only one third of us are married, compared to seventy percent of whites. To keep the answer as concise as possible, I will say that the Democratic Party has become synonymous with social change for people of color. Bill Clinton was embraced by Blacks in droves because he was seen as cool. George W. Bush, Bob Dole, and recent Republican candidates have refused to give speeches to the NAACP because these venues are viewed as unconfortable. Republican candidates do nothing to pander for Black votes. This is because the Latino population is increasing exponentially; therefore, they chase after Hispanic votes. On the other hand, the Black population isn’t really growing. Conservatives include abortion, gay marriage, and other moral issues as focal points in their campaigns. These issues appeal to the fundamental Christians, not the average Black family. Until bigots, fanatics, and unsympathetic people leave the Republican Party, I think Blacks will continue to vote for Democrats.
