Sara S.MemberPaganism takes many, many forms. True, some Pagans are superstitious and some don’t believe in a Supreme Being. But others do. Some believe in many gods, and some believe that all of those gods are different aspects of one, unpersonified power. Paganism in most forms does involve reverence for the earth, but not because Pagans don’t believe in anything else. It’s because they believe there is spiritual power in everything the earth holds, and in the earth itself.

Sara S.MemberFirst of all, let me start by saying that all goths don’t wear black. Dark colors, yes, mostly jewel tones. I get classified as a goth sometimes, including sometimes by other goths, but I’m usually wearing medieval garb whenever I can. Velvet bodices, peasant blouses, layers of skirts … nothing’s black. And people ask me why I dress like that, much like you’re asking why goths wear black. My answer, and probably many of theirs, is that the way one dresses reflects their view of the world. Not always, mind you, but often. I wear medieval clothing because I believe in the ideals of that age. It’s also very beautiful. Some of the goths I know wear black because they believe in a sort of balance in the world between light and dark. They don’t believe eternal, incessant happiness is natural. And they reflect that. But some just do it because they think it’s beautiful.
