Boy I sure believe that statement. When it comes to me being an individual that’s capable of doing work, with a good work ethic, I get the special title of being a dumb n*gger. Instead of an individual my IQ is generalized to 80 (close to retarted) suggesting that I am stupid. Yes I know there are a lot of blacks that get jobs they don’t deserve, but please, stop blaming the whole race, and look at some as indivuals that you cry about when it comes to reverse discrimination. Denoting that a whole race is inferior when it comes to job practices is discrimination. Saying that black are ‘generally unqualified’ is trumping a group together, and that is discrimination. Look at me for what I can bring to the table, not that I am tan therefore stupid. Trust me people that shouldn’t have jobs because they are unqualified black, white, spanish, Jewish, Asian, etc. I can admit that yes, some blacks don’t need to be in jobs they are unqualified for, but can you admit that they’re are some whites that are just as unqualified as blacks?

Your post is one of the most intelligent I’ve read among the white responses. A lot of other white males answered the question, but one just said it was because it’s discrimination, which leads me to believe he believes black people are not qualified to do certain jobs. I don’t have a deep voice and get made fun of because of it. Many people (black and white) start imitating me with a Mickey Mouse voice, which I know is not my voice. I never thought about deep voices being primarily African American, probably because a lot of people in my family don’t have deep voices. I guess we must be freaks.

I know that sometimes when it comes to class, more African-Americans will cry they are victims. I personally do not feel that I am a victim. I’m treated fairly by most races, and the people who have a problem with me, I just shrug it off as their problem. But, since I’ve been in grad school, a lot of white people ask me ‘How does it feel to be a black person’? Or ‘How can you stand the injustice that you face because you are black’? I feel like I’m being forced to be a victim to justify something for them. When they ask me questions and I respond, I don’t know because I’ve been raised in an all white surburbian area and have few experiences of what they are talking about, many just don’t believe me and keep pressing for me to cry YES I AM A VICTIM PITY ME response. So yes, some black people cry victim, but a lot of whites foster this thinking so they can sit back and pity blacks. This pity seems to be a vicious cycle.
