RichMemberAll the stereotypes you list above *do* have some truth to them, but the danger in stereotypes and the undesirable result is what happens when an entire group is judged by them. For example, the stereotype about Jews and money is rooted in true and mostly positive examples, such as the great European banking families like the Rothschilds, and the many Jewish people (Baruch, etc) who had a great influence on American economics. On the other hand, if all Jews were seen like the greedy Shylock in Shakespeare’s ‘The Merchant of Venice’ that would be undesirable, just as it would be to assume that all Jews are obsessed with money. Most intelligent people realize that not all Southerners are racists, however they still have the stigma of being the last widespread holdout of the KKK and the legacy of Jim Crow laws to live down. Hard working Mexicans is a very positive stereotype, since most Mexicans (and other Central/South Americans) come to the United States to work, although some of their fellow citizens engender the negative stereotype of being after public assistance without contributing to society. Stereotypes in general are not wrong, especially when they are based on empirical evidence, that is, what one can observe. And that is where most stereotypes come from. For example, most diners in New York are owned by people of Greek background. Although I don’t know why that is, it can be observed and even proven to be true. And yes, it is a perfectly human response to attempt to categorize people. Again, it is only when these categorizations become negative or derogatory to a group that a problem exists.

RichMemberThis is far from only a white problem, as parents, especially mothers, of all races have killed their babies/children in recent years. There is, however, a separate though related issue with urban, mostly black or Hispanic mothers abandoning their children in Dumpsters, alleys, etc. that is economically related for the most part. Some of these children are not found in time and do not survive. If you are talking about post-partum psychotic infanticide, there are definitely verifiable cases that do not discriminate by race (mother in Texas was white, Hispanic mother in Paterson, N.J., threw young child in the Passaic River, black woman in New York threw baby out the window, etc). This is a major psychiatric problem that requires treatment and possibly prosecution, depending on whether the act was committed in a psychotic state or just diminished capacity, which mitigates charges and sentences, though the person is still legally responsible for his or her actions.

RichMemberTendencies may in fact be inborn, but the urge to act on these tendencies is a conscious choice. Humans have many tendencies and drives, many of which are instinctive. What separates humans from other animals is the fact that we are the only creature that is currently proven to have the ability to reason and make decisions. So to answer your question, people may not choose to have homosexual tendencies, but there is certainly a conscious choice made to live and act as a homosexual. Not to equate homosexuality with any of the following, but for example, have you ever felt the compulsion to steal? To become violent? Did you repress those urges or did you act upon them? Society sets norms not to discriminate or repress, but to create a sense of order. Homosexual activity has been recognized by many societies as counter to the concept of marriage and propogation of a society. Biologically, homosexuality serves no purpose- except to possibly limit the offspring of a species. So the bottom line- there is nothing shameful or wrong with disapproving of the activity, but do not condemn the tendencies of the individual.
