Nope. No more than I find the idiom ‘to blackball’ offensive, or ‘to whitewash’. Unfortunately, it is a part of common ideology that dark or blackness is undesirable, not because of Black people but because blackness obscures or obliterates. I don’t think that is going to go away anytime soon. I do think that uncoupling Black (the racial identity) from black (the color and its associations) is occurring, though not as fast as one would hope.
