I don’t think kids are going ‘the wrong way’ by not honoring their parents all the time. Why should we ‘have’ to have respect for these people, who are just like anyone else, except they brought us life and raised us? Of course we should be thankful to them, but if we don’t agree with our parents’ descisions, we should be allowed to voice our opinion. And a lot of the time (I am not being biased here) parents are certain that their descision is right and their kid’s is wrong, so the kid gets angry. I know there are some kids who don’t consider their parents at all, though, and are unnecessarily insolent.

i have never had a tv in my home, and i live really comfortably and not any less happily than others. we had a tv for about 3 months once and i ended up hating it and wanting to kick it to death every couple of minutes. i asked my friends why they needed their tv so much and they said that they wouldn’t know what to do with their spare time without it. most of them never read though. i do love my computer but i know i would be able to live very happily without it too.

Kids feel they can’t turn to anyone for help because whoever they turn to, they feel they will be judged. Kids already are judged by everything else they do, and they are very afraid to be thought of as really deviational by those they talk to. And it crazy. I think the amount of judgment that goes on in our world is stupid. People don’t actually THINK about how it might affect others. I know its true for me and not just me because i’ve heard it from quite a few other kids and adults.

My parents are french but i live in new zealand so i have seen both education systems. I have never been to school in france but know quite a lot about it from cousins and parents. The education system in france is really academic and pushed, but not necesarily better than anywhere else. Apparently kids in french schools get heaps and heaps of information piled on them to learn and memorise. In my school, the work is actually a lot easier, and school’s more relaxed, but we discuss issues and opinions more. so my parents, having gone through the french system, know a lot more history than i ever will, but they hated school and learning, and only know a lot on specific topics.
