I think the word ‘skank’ or ‘skanky’ is far, far worse than ‘hootchie’. I use the word ‘skank’ to describe someone disgusting, dirty, sleazy, or morally bankrupt. ‘Hootchie’ to me means a little loose sexually but still isn’t as bad as a ‘slut’. I really never realized that people distinguised women in tight clothing of different colors by different names. To me the words ‘skank’ and ‘hootchie’ could describe people of any color. ‘Skank’ could also descibe a man. The word ‘hootchie’ has been used a lot lately in rap songs, so people who listen to rap, regardless of color, are generally the ones who used the word and it’s not necessessarily always an insult.
