I don’t think it’s just a black thing. In spite of the media slamming George W. Bush for his clumsy speech, the 20,000 or so votes tossed out in Florida got him the electoral majority. As someone who’s been accused of sounding like a character in the X Files, I know that people are less likely to trust you if you speak in complete sentences.
