It started back with Abraham in the Book of Genesis Chapter 16. Since Sarai his wife was childless she suggested that they have a child by her maid Hagar and when the maid became pregnant a dispute arose between the maid Hagar and Sarai Abrahams wife. Hagar fled and God met her in the wilderness, then in verses 10-12 God promises ‘I will multiply your descendants exceedingly, so that they shall not be counted for multitude.’….. and (Speaking of the son that will be born to her)He shall be a wild man; His hand shall be against every man, And every man’s hand against him. The sons of Ishmael are the Arab races. God promised Abraham a son in his old age and Isaac was born to Sarai his wife. Genesis 21 records that Hagar and Ishmael were sent away (to put it mildly) and in her despair God speaks to her and promises that Ishmael will be a great nation. So I believe that as Ishmael was sent away that stirred up a hatred as Isaac was the ‘promised’ son and Ishmael was the son of a slave woman. In the New Testament in Galatians 4:29 (NKJV) But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. Israel was God’s specially favored and chosen people and for this they are hated… You could point to many other reasons probably but this is where and how it started.
