I am blind, and I have been since I was four. I would also like to clear this misconception that blind people deal with constant “trials and tribulations.” This is absolutely false. Yes, I do have to do things differently than a sighted person, but that’s the only difference. To answer the question: I don’t think that I am reduced to feelings of extreme frustration because of the fact that I can’t look at a man. It’s true that I don’t know how it feels to look at a man and feel pleasure, but there is so much more to the sexiness of a person than how they look. For me, obviously, if a man is charming in his thoughts and words, I can easily be attracted to him. Also, masculine colognes mixed with the natural body scent can be arousing. Needless to say, tactile and aural sensations are the best, though. A pleasing voice and soft touches are wonderful. I don’t feel that I am deprived of a person’s beauty because I can’t see. I don’t feel like I have a lesser knowledge of a person’s attractivness because I can’t see. Fantasy, imagination and masturbation work for the blind just as they work for the sighted. The fantasies may be of a different nature, though.
