I think it is an assumption that the South is racist. There are many Cubans and Puerto Ricans living in Florida and other Southern coastal areas who have just immigrated here and really cannot speak the language.

I think it is crazy to say white people have everything at their feet. I, as a white woman, think minorities have everything at THEIR feet. There is affirmative action, which places minorities in positions they may or may not be qualified for. Colleges have to accept a certain number of minorities for their quotas. I see absolutely nothing wrong with a white pride parade. I don’t think that we should have to call it a European Heritage event either. People have Black Pride parades, which encompass African, Jamacian, Hatian Americans and no one questions that.

I don’t understand how you can say you don’t see black people on the screen. There are plenty of black movie stars, and now there are black-only television stations (Black Starz and WB). MTV now shows only rap music by black artists. I am afraid that European culture is being shoved in the background in favor African culture. Sure, some people are envious of black women’s more curvaceous hips and lips, of the wonderful beat of African drums and of the cool dread or cornrow hairstyles, but America is so obsessed with force-feeding its citizens black culture that it is really getting out of hand.

As for the slavery thing, please get over it. I am so sick of blacks blaming everything on the times of slavery. Please know that you are not the only ones as a people who have been enslaved – but are the only ones whining about it so loudly. Jews, Native Americans and a host of other people have been enslavedm, but they get up and move on and don’t blame everything on the enslavement of their ancestors. Also, African blacks are still currently enslaving their own. Who are they going to blame?
