There is no doubt about that: soccer is by far the most popular sport in Germany. Unless major international sport events are taking place (Olympic Games, Formula 1 races etc.), approximately 70-90% of the daily sports news deal with soccer. When it comes to amateur sports (college, spare time) soccer is still dominant, but athletic sports, basketball, handball, tennis, swimming, cycling etc. are very popular as well.
