It is absolutely about power. I don’t see how anyone can be ignorant of the power play going on. I consider oral sex far more intimate than vaginal intercourse. It absolutely makes me feel powerful when a woman is willing to do this to me, far more than with vaginal intercourse. Perhaps this is because it represents pure sex, but mostly because it’s ‘nasty’. The concept of engaging in oral sex rather than intercourse so that one can save themselves for marriage has always baffled me. Some responses question how it can be loving to do something your partner wouldn’t do if left to their own devices. It’s not all about love. Other emotions go into making a relationship as well, as some other responsdants recognized when women said that they did it because, or at least knowing, that it made him feel powerful. Some recognised that there was an aspect of power for them as well. Every time I see some girl clinging to a guy’s back on a motorcycle while he dodges traffic at 70 mph I am reminded that there are certain non-politically correct aspects to sex.
