I don’t understand why the American government feels it has to be such a ‘police power’ because it only seems to cause more problems for everyone. The people of each region know what is best for them, at least more than what the American government does. However, no matter what the American people try to say or do, we are usually just ignored. People here complain about the things that our government is doing, but often times, our government quells the voices of opposition in this country. Laws passed like the patriot act and fast track legislation are making the people of this country lose their freedoms. I wish that there were a way to bring the people of the world together to unite against the oppression of many governments. Many Americans are blind to what the government is doing. The media hides the facts from us with stories that are biased or irrelevant. Many journalists have been reprimanded for reporting about the things that are important that offend the government here. In fact, vice president Chenney tells us that we are un-American if we ask questions. I have something to tell everyone in the world. If you stop questioning whats going on arround you, YOU DONT HAVE FREEDOM! I am ashamed to call myself an American because of the actions this government has taken. I am proud of many of the American people, however, because I know that so many of us can’t stand whats going on. I have protested in Washington DC and Kent State against the actions of this government. I am against this horrible war. It is only killing more and more innocent people. The United States government are all terrorists by their own definitions! and I am fed up with it! Please understand that we are not United in this country behind the government; they are only trying to convince the people of the world it is so, but it is a lie. I do not support the killing of innocents anywhere. I do not support invading other countries and dictating how they are to live. I do not support the corporations that ruin the economies of countries everywhere, including the United States. Minimum wage?!? People are not inferior machines to be spoon fed life by our leaders. We all are valuable; we all have hopes, dreams, fears, and we all bleed. If we can all understand that and the fact that our governments are trying to keep us pacified and sedated, we can all wake up and realize how important life is.
