If by your question you mean would lesbians go straight if straight men understood them, the answer is no. The one thing a lot of straight guys don’t understand is that being a lesbian is not about men. I’m not a lesbian because I hate men or had a bad experience with men or because straight men don’t understand me. I’m a lesbian because I love women. And while it would be nice if more straight men understood me, it’s not going to change who I am. As far as the reading goes, I’m not sure what exactly you want to understand about lesbians.
