Not all gay men are sissies, and not all lesbians are butch. In general, people cover the spectrum of the feminine to masculine scale, and gays and lesbians are no different. It is true that some gay men ‘overdo’ the feminine and some lesbians are really butch, but I think that has more to do with their individual personalities and the society they choose, rather than their sexual orientation.
