    I think that it is one of the major faults of our society that mixed-race people are required to pick one or the other race to identify with – or worse, their race is picked for them by society. This idea that one drop of black blood makes you black is a hold-over from the days of slavery. This was a law enacted so that the slave owners could enslave as many people as possible, including their own children born to black mothers. People are people and should just be who they are, and other people should just let them be. Why are we still so hung up on race?
