Tabloids sell like hotcakes for the same reason that millions of people watch the Jerry Springer show. They appeal to the lowest common denomiator. Personally, I have no desire to see other people’s dirty laundry hung out for the whole neighborhood to see, but there obviously are a lot of people who do.
