I was labled goth in highschool, and am still labled goth now at 23. I never concidered myself goth. I started wearing black, not beacause I wanted to be different, but because I wanted to look slimmer. It just kind of grew out of that. I listen to music I can identify with, and have a circle of friends that understand me. I may look different, with my many piercings, tatoos, and black clothing, but really I think that I am just like everyone else. I had no idea there was a gothic club! Maybe I should sign up…lol

They also used this logic to teach us that piercings, tatoos,drugs, alchohol, and sex outside of marraige would also damage our souls. I doubt any of that is in the bible, but when I was a child it scared me enough to believe it.

I started in college. I felt overwhelmed by everything, roomates, no money , long hours and school. I did it because I was on the edge of suicide and didn’t see a way out. But it got better, I graduated, got promoted, and met someone I loved. I just didn’t want to do it anymore. When things got tough I actually tried, but I just couldn’t do it. Honestly, I think I would be dead if I hadn’t found that outlet. Sometimes even the people who love you the most don’t want to hear that you are that depressed.
