Boy, did Sheryll ever hit the nail on the head on THAT one. She has an excellent point. People will take advantage of you as long as you let them. And women are not attracted to men who cannot stand up for themselves. Also, if a person is attractive then why shouldn’t they try to use it to their advantage? This includes both women AND men. I use to get walked all over by women because I am inherently honest and trusting and thought that the women would consider my feelings before their own selfish needs. Wow. Was I ever naive. Now I realize that Sheryll and women like her are acting according to the rules they have laid out for themselves and why shouldn’t they? I am a handsome man (or so I’m told) and I have used that leverage to get the attention I want from women knowing full well that I was not pursuing a relationship of any kind. Did I feel guilty? Not a chance. I told them right up front that I only wanted to be friends, they just chose not to believe me. So Eliezer, if you want a girl to notice you and take you seriously then take control of the situation and if you are getting jerked around then take Sheryll’s advice and walk. Don’t play second fiddle when there’s the entire woodwind section.
