I think it could have something to do with Barbie, Marilyn Monroe, and Hugh Hefner. This is why many women dye their hair. For example, take any blond, picture her with darker hair, and image if she would be better/worse looking. If a woman only looks better as a blond, she may not really be all that good looking. A good example of this experiment is Britney Spears and Christina Aquelera (sp?).
