The title of the book refers to the absorbtion of rain and oils in white folks’ hair that makes it smell like wet dogs. Just the type of question to ask here at ‘Y Forum.’ I am Scottish and Welsh and very proud of my ancestry. So I guess that makes me ‘white’ and ‘proud.’ I’m not sure that all black people are proud just because of their skin tone, either. Many of my friends wear specific symbols of their national heritage. Not just ‘black’ stuff.
