Julie K. M.ParticipantIn all organized religion, it is increasingly difficult to discern which professed beliefs are germane to the particular religion and which have been engendered by a religious bureaucracy. The bureaucracy may or may not have been led astray from true core beliefs by many other, more human or political concerns. An easily read, good example of this in relation to the Roman Catholic Church is the recently published Galileo’s Daughter by Dava Sobel (c. 1999, Walker & Co.), New York. Read it – it’s good!
