JorgeParticipantIt’s not that they *have* to be married. But because of the emphasis on family and family relations, it’s encouraged that both males and females get married while they’re in their 20s. There’s also a lot of pressure from the parents because they want to see their grandchildren before they die (guilt-trip). This despite the fact that they may be in perfect health and in their early 50s. Furthermore, your’e not really taken seriously (as a male) by the other male members of the family until you become a ‘padre de familia’ (Head of a family).
