JenniferParticipantI cannot speak for the entire female gender, of course, but I can assure you that when I move my top leg up and down while my legs are crossed, I am most definitely in no way providing myself with sexual stimulation. It’s a very interesting idea, though, but I’ve never heard of any woman doing it for that reason. For me, it’s an automatic thing; perhaps nervous energy, since situations requiring polite leg-crossing tend to be important ones (i.e. job interviews, meetings, etc.). Hope that helps some.

JenniferParticipantI know exactly what you’re talking about! I’ve worked in cashier positions on and off starting in high school, and I got the same kind of treatment. Some people would yell at me for things that weren’t my fault, while others would glare at me and act as if I weren’t good enough to talk to. My managers would sometimes treat me as though I was stupid also, which was always odd to me since I made straight A’s in high school and go to college on a full scholarship. I know I’m intelligent and I don’t act like I’m not, but somehow, as soon as I put on the vest, people treated me like I was a peon. It became so frustrating. I think people equate position to intelligence–i.e. if i were smarter, I would have a better paying job. But sometimes you do what you have to, even if you’d rather be a millionaire. They don’t care that you could possibly be a well-paid business mogul in three years; the seem to equate your worth with your current job, as if they never worked in low-paying jobs when they were younger!
