I usually thought of myself as independent, until I went out with a guy two years younger than me who was only in this country for a couple of years. He didn’t know anything about this country and was totally dependent on me. And it was the biggest turn-off. I think this goes for everyone, female or male. You want to feel taken care of to a certain point. You want to know that if you are ever in trouble, that your significant other can help you out. Men need it, too. Maybe not as much, or men don’t talk about it as much as women do. It’s not that we need a sugar daddy, just someone we can lean and rely on, more emotionally than anything.
