You may have misread the situation. His diary entries may be more fantasy than fact. All of us have thoughts that we choose not to share with anyone, and perhaps these are just things that ‘might have been’ under other circumstances. It doesn’t mean they really happened, or even that he wished they had. Would you really want all your fantasies to come true? I really doubt it.
