I think its an issue of scarcity. I’m from Europe and there is an abundance of blonde, blue eyed women – so they’re nothing special. But here in the US there aren’t as many so – maybe -they are more in demand. I’m a blonde-haired, blue-eyed female and I’m astounded at the amount of attention (most of it unwanted) I get from guys here in the USA. Guys (especially black and hispanic guys) seem to be fascinated by blue eyes. I had a hispanic boyfriend and everytime he looked at me he would comment on the blue eyes. It is SOOOO weird coz for me its no big deal and I’m not attracted to blonde, blue-eyed men (except of course, Brad Pitt) Also, if you think about it, light hair and light eyes are popular amongst African American and Hispanics too. Its like everyone wants light hair and light eyes. I imagine its the novelty factor.
