I just moved to the South and I’m having to get used to the food and what my friends eat. I find a lot of it gross, but them some of my West Coast eating habits gross them out, too.

I’m as annoyed by this as I am by anyone who goes out of their way to be too much ‘something’ and ends up becoming the worst of the stereotypes. People who go out of their way to be over the top, or who don’t act appropriately given the situation, bother me. This kind of behavior might be fine among friends but is out of place at a sporting event, just as a belching, drunk, beer-bellied football fan would be at a church service.

I think it’s because women realize the men are not deriving any sexual gratification or getting aroused by the contact. Plus, women in general want to feel attractive, and attention from a gay man helps that, with the added bonus of not wondering what the guy’s motives are.

Get to a friend’s house, shelter or assistance center – please! If you are afraid he will follow you, have someone you trust meet you in a public place, like a shopping mall, and have them take you there in their car. Leave yours at the public place, preferably in a well-lit area. Call the police from there; they can help advise you on getting a temporary restraining order. Also, try to find a social worker to help you – most shelters can give assistance. It will only get worse. Please save yourself.

I watched one of my pregnant friends go through this. She rarely got male attention before she was expecting, but once she was pregnant, whoa! I’ve noticed that healthy pregnant women have a glow about them. Maybe it’s that they have clear skin, or stand up straighter and with confidence. Or maybe a pregnant woman brings out men’s protective instincts. I don’t know that it’s common, but I know it happens.
