I am a Muslim male of 14, so i’ll try answering these questions. 1. Self-control. I keep myself focused on high school and cross country (my sport.) I don’t need to have sex now cause God doesn’t want me to, and I accept that. I also think about the negative consequences that can arise, such as having to bear the burden of a child, STD’s, etc. 2. I would definitely say that it has. Society always seems to promote the idea that having sex before marriage is acceptable. On the other hand, I know some non-Muslims who practice abstinence (mostly because of their religion or the practical reasons why.)
