First, let me clear up the misunderstanding that gay men are the only ones who participate in anal sex. Many heterosexual males prefer/enjoy anal intercourse with their girlfriends. There are women who enjoy it, and there are also straight guys who enjoy letting their girlfrinds penetrate them anally with a ‘strap-on,’ (slang term for this is ‘pegging’). There are many, many reasons why someone would enjoy anal sex in both the ‘active’ (male) or ‘passive’ (female) roles. Understand that deriving pleasure from sex is more mental than physical. For example, if you like to have sex outdoors, it’s not because sex feels better outside, it’s because your mind likes sex better outside. So a lot of the attraction in anal sex are the mental aspects such as being submissive/dominating to your partner, giving or receiving pleasure in unconvential ways, or just doing something that you’ve been taught is ‘naughty.’ That being said, there is a physical pleasure to anal sex. Obviously, if you are the active partner in anal sex, it is clear how this would be pleasurable. Many people who have had both anal and vaginal sex say the feeling if very similar. On the other end, so to speak, is the pleasure from being receptive. This may be more of an acquired taste, but if you have ever had your partner finger your anus at the same time your genitals are being stimulated, you may realize that this is a very good feeling indeed. So just to re-cap, there are both mental and physical pleasure that are realized in having anal sex, whether in the active or passive role. Both men and women, straight and gay, like to have anal sex in either the active or passive role.
