Essence-P28674MemberThis particular segment of the black culture that you are referring to is the hip hop generation. Personally, it doesn’t necessarily bother me when I see rappers such as 50 cent glorifying what may bring African-Americans down. 50 cent’s rapping about how much money he possesses is a form of freedom of speech and expression and it is his right to so, although there are other things to rap about which other rappers do, the songs may consist of the struggle of Blacks, the hustle, love, or drugs. Why? Because most of the things rappers rap about are true when it comes to criminal life and making a living however it is possible. When a country is run by a specific group the people of that same group will benefit more over another group. Also all black people are not suffering and going without food or an education..and if so it’s the government’s job to make those things available to be who are at a disadvantage…I’ve never heard of anyone being killed for no good reason in only the black race…it does occur but please don’t generalize that because you are looking from the outside in..Whatever the media tells you is only what you know…jumping to conclusions is never good. Also it is not the rapper’s jobs to feed or educate anyone..Everyone has a choice..if you choose not to, that is your own failure..
