I wouldn’t worry too much about being an interracial couple in South Carolina. There are many interracial couples in South Carolina who get around alright. You may get a few strange looks but I wouldn’t let that bother you. There are racists in the south just like there are racists everywhere- and people who won’t want you to date outside your race. That said, the vast majority of people in the Carolinas are not bothered by interracial dating. Interestingly enough, when I dated African American girls back in my high-school and university days it was the girl who got the most criticism. None of my friends were concerned that I was dating outside my race but on each occasion when I dated an African American, there was always one African American friend of the girl I was dating that had an issue with me being white. I never encountered any resistance to dating Asian girls.
