I assume you’re asking about natural, unprocessed hair (which I have). Like anyone’s hair, it depends upon how well it’s taken care of. Well-cared-for, natural black hair is wonderfully soft. When my hair was very short, it felt like velvet. Now that it’s longer, I wear it in many twists (looks similar to dreadlocks), and to me they feel like silken ropes.
