I think it’s a joke. I’m Muslim, and I think Rushdie is an awesome writer with a lot of intelligent and hilarious things to say. The whole thing was blown out of proportion. Generally, the fundamentalists blow everything out of proportion, anyway. Although I am Muslim, I distance myself from that side of Islam.
