Daryl B.ParticipantI’m 46 years old. I (still) listen to Led Zeppelin. I also listen to Metallica, The Beastie Boys, The Black Eyed Peas, and Avril Lavigne. Why the diversity? I like good music! My 21 year old son has never taken to ‘classic rock’, even though he has been thoroughly exposed to it through my listening to it. I have a friend who’s 10, 13, and 16 year old all play ‘classic rock’ songs in their band. I know of a 20 year old woman who is ‘totally’ into ‘classic rock’ through the influence of her fathers listening to it. She is knowledgable of band histories, etc. So I think it is great for the young to like the old and it is even better if the old can get into the young!

Daryl B.ParticipantGreat question Caitlin. When I was your age I was labled as being ‘very religious’. I was not though. I had a participated in a ‘spiritual path’ that took it’s guidance from ‘religious’ texts and traditions. I had ‘religious’ experiences but never joined a ‘religion’. Religion is more a social distinction in the world today than it is a signifier of one’s ‘personal beliefs’. What people call ‘God’ is out there (or in ‘here’) but you don’t have to belong to a religion to experience ‘it’. Hope this helps you some.

Daryl B.ParticipantI’ve been disabled from a psychological illness for the past 6 years. Up until 8 months ago I thought my life was over. Why? Because the nature of my illness (bipolar disorder/severe depression) will make you feel that way. It does not take that many negative things to happen in your life (coupled with manic depression) to make one give up hope. Through good doctoring and proper medication usage I have finally come out of that dark grave that depression buried me in. This is just my opinion based on my personal experience.
