DanMemberYes, thanks very much to the above poster for clarifying the fact that, 6000 years ago, without today’s scientific advances, reproduction could only occur via sexual intercourse between a man and a woman (Adam and Eve in your example). The flaw in your theory, though, is that ‘God’ DID make two Adams and two Eves. In fact, he made roughly 200 million (3% of the world’s population) of them (Adams who like Adams and Eves who like Eves). If we do subscribe to your Creationist account of existence, then of course it’s pretty clear the first two humans have to be male and female in order to propagate the human genome (or ‘go forth and multiply’). But what kind of omniscient, omnipotent Creator would be so blind as to not be able to project into Our future and see homosexuals as loving, friendly people, who contribute to society in so many ways, particularly through the arts, and who DO have the capability to ‘go forth and multiply’. Yes, people stare at gays kissing because it’s not ‘normal’. In fact, in Australia, people stare at Aborigines because they’re not ‘normal’. Same with disabled people or a straight white guy in a gay bar. But to equate abnormal with UNNATURAL is a failure of logic. For a gay guy to love a WOMAN is, for him, THAT is unnatural. (I’d like to see you try.) And as the Bible says, ‘men [abandoning] the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts’ is a grievous sin. If the Bible is ‘inspired’ by God and is so overwhelmingly great, shouldn’t we use our modern understanding of the love that does exist between same-sex couples (just ask Dick Cheney) to form a MODERN interpretation of Biblical passages?
