Women do tend to flirt more with men who are “taken” for two reasons: 1) Men who are in relationships tend to exude a relaxed confidence, rather than neediness and/or desperation. Confidence is so much more attractive; desperation can be a real turn-off. 2) Because you are attached, you are “safe.” A woman can flirt with you and assume that nothing will come of it, so rather than a means to an end, the flirtation is a little harmless “spicing up” of her boring day.

Would it make you feel any better if you saw a black man with a beautiful but stupid and/or mean white woman? Just because a woman – white, black or any other race – is “ugly,” should that socially and sexually disenfranchise her? Perhaps the “ugly” woman you see has what my mom calls “inner qualities” to make up for it. Too often, a woman’s appearance is the only measure used to rate her worth as a person.

No, they do not wear them as frequently; however, certain Hollywood actresses have recently popularized hair extensions for white women. Gwyneth Paltrow wears them. Kate Winslet’s mane of hair in Titanic was all extensions. White women who do get hair extensions usually get them for “instant long hair” and/or to add fullness to fine hair. As for braids, I have known a few “artsy” white women who get braids, but it is quite rare.

Where I live, in the San Francisco Bay area, AM/WF couples are, in my experience, just as common as the reverse amongst the under-40 set. In fact, I have seen personals ads from Asian men seeking white women exclusively and vice versa. The Bay Area is very diverse and very tolerant. Also, a rather large percentage of white men here are gay so there is, proportionately, a larger pool of single straight Asian men than white men. I have dated Asian men (I am white) and haven’t experienced any flak for it.

Another reason besides a diminished sense of smell might be that older women tend to wear the perfumes that were fashionable in their youth. Those perfumes were much heavier and more floral than the light, green/citrus fragrances in fashion today. Hence, to a younger person they smell strong & heavy.
