ChuckMemberIt appears that the majority of whites that have responded on this subject would like for us (African Americans) to stop feeling hatred toward them because of slavery, and to ‘Get over it’. What they do not understand is that most of us do not feel the way we do as a result of our distant relatives being enslaved by theirs. We feel the way we do, in most cases as a direct result of how we or our families have been treated by actual living breathing white people. I understand that there are some good whites who treat blacks with respect, and are teaching their children not to hate or distrust those who are different, however I still believe that the majority of whites in this country are racist to a certain extent. If you disagree with this, and you are white, please ask yourself one question. Would I feel comfortable allowing my son or daughter to marry a black person? If the answer is no, then ask yourself why, and be honest.
